The Alaska Court System is pleased to announce the Alaska Appellate
Courts Bulletin Board System (AAC-BBS). Anyone with a computer, modem
and communications software can access electronic versions of Alaska Supreme
Court and Court of Appeals decisions, and Court of Appeals Memorandum of
Order and Judgments. Callers may select the files of opinions issued in
the last week or files of all opinions issued in the last 90 days.
Coverage begins with opinions issued in February 1995.
There is no charge to access this bulletin board other than long distance
phone charges for users calling from outside the Anchorage area. The
phone number for AAC-BBS is (907) 264-0721. Opinions are available for
downloading only. Callers will not be able to read opinions while
connected to AAC-BBS.
Users should set their communications software to 8 data bits, 1 stop
bit, and no parity. Callers should know what downloading protocol (e.g.
ZMODEM, Kermit) they will be using. New users will be asked for some
basic account information the first time they sign on.
