LEXIS marketing of PC equipment

The initial feeling on this issue at the University of Tulsa is: if Mead Data
wants to actively distribute their sale brochures when they assign individual
student passwords, when their reps train our students or their clients, etc.,
in
the permanent learning center, that is their prerogative. This action then
becomes clearly
es clearly identified with their company. However, we do not want to distribute
or make available sales brochures outside the LEXIS training room that we
"share" with Mead, since it might give the appearance that we endorse these
products. We are not endorsing the Dell computers, and we absolutely will not
de
al with any operational or repair questions/problems.
Related to this issue: when Mead made modems available, signs appeared in the
public areas of the library and law school. Some new students were confused
and wondered if they HAD to buy these modems for LEXIS access from their homes.
What are others planning to do about this issue??
