Exams in Computer Labs

We are planning to experiment with allowing law students to take exams using
computers in the law school computer lab (which is physically located in the
law library). Several problems have been identified, including: 1) making sure
the student cannot cheat by using material placed on either the computer
network, local hard drive or floppy disk; 2) whether to allow other students
in the lab (for general word processing purposes) during the time period when
the exam is being given; and 3) having more students wishing to use a computer
during an exam than computers available (we have 16 pcs in the lab). How do
other schools handle using computers for exams? What other issues arise with
using computers to take exams?

Thanks,
