I hear that we are not out of the woods yet.
Although the members of JCP could put a hold on the GPO proposal, it
appears that they have not done so yet. I asked what more we can do
(*Now*, they are getting letters--thank you everybody!).
The one suggestion that was forthcoming is that we should all try to
meet personally with our representatives and/or Senators while they
are home for the holidays. So, try to call and get an appointment to
see them before they come back to Washington. Also, if you could give
the local staff a tour of the collection and explain some of the
public usage it gets, that might help to make the whole issue a bit
less abstract.
