ABA stats, salaries of librarians

Primarily to Directors of Law Libraries.

I am looking at the ABA questionnaire Profile III, Librarians and Library
Staff. It says "Do not report here any librarians with significant
instructional duties or with law school faculty rank (they should be
reported in Profile I -- Instruction). ....

Are you interpreting this to mean that many of our associate directors
salaries will not be included ( and maybe other librarians) even though
they may have some "faculty " rank but are not on tenure track law faculty.

My concern about this is that in prior years ABA called for all
librarians salaries EXCEpt the Director's salary. Thus when we got
AVerage and Median salary comparisons from all ABA schools we could do
some comparing. This new form -- if some of us include and others
exclude our the salaries of our second in command librarian then the
averages and medians will of all ABA schools will not be meaningful for
comparisons.

Would you please respond regarding what you think you will do about
including librarian's salaries other than the Director's.
