Subject: FEDWORLD now on Internet
To whom it may concern:
FedWorld is now available via Internet. This is the first
official
public announcement of FedWorld on Internet. The domain for
FedWorld is
FEDWORLD.GOV. Currently you may only Telnet to FedWorld. To
Telnet to
FedWorld enter TELNET FEDWORLD.GOV from your Internet prompt.
The IP address for FedWorld is 192.239.92.201.
Internet mail and FTP capabilities are currently under
development.
Internet users should turn ANSI graphics off, this will increase
response and decrease screen garbage. To do this enter U3A from
the top
menu and turn the ANSI option to OFF.
This is a fantastic source of over 120 federal agency bulletin
boards each
containing hundreds of full-text files and data files. There is
no
copyright on use of these files unless indicated. As a
collection
development tool for electronic information it is unmatched. This
source of
information is free for the next couple of months (perhaps
longer).
