Several of us in MAALL have been talking about setting up
a cooperative pilot project to start teaching law *students*
the use of Internet. It's my theory that, given that law
faculty really started getting heavily into Westlaw and
LEXIS when their students forced them to, the same process
will occur when law students start using e-mail, listserv,
gopher, and so on. Part of the project, of course, would
entail helping to establish law-related resources on the
Internet to make it worth the students' while. Substantive
law lists would be one part of it; others could be "gopherizing"
student regulation manuals at several law school (along with
other information of that sort that students could use); also
lists for special groups like Women's Law Committees or
ILSA (International Law Students' Associations). I expect that
we'll be talking more about this at the MAALL meeting in October.
