I am forwarding this message from the PACS-L list. Apparently there was
an article in the September 3 Chronicle of Higher Education (which I did
not see) discussing the future of the "electronic library." One of the
persons quoted was William Y. Arms; his comments caused quite a stir on
PACS-L. Here is his message giving his fuller thoughts on the matter.
We need to think about these things when thinking about the autonomy of
law libraries. Any comments?
