        I NEVER view the thank yous as clutter. Even though they are not
directed to me, I take great pleasure in reading expressions of
appreciation for the favors done for colleagues. All too often we
librarians do not receive pats on the back from some of the very patrons
we go out of our way to serve. I say, use the delete key with abandon if
the thank-you messages annoy you. I believe I speak for many others who
love reading these positive reinforcements for the good turns we do for
each other.
