Wow! September is turning out to be a stellar month for news
coverage of law libraries and law librarians. Check out the
following:
Taylor Fitchett and Nick Finke of the University of Cincinnati
Law Library were interviewed in the September 7 issue of The
Chronicle of Higher Education about Project DIANA, a joint effort
by Cincinnati and Yale to make core documents on human rights
around the world available on the Internet. The project is named in
memory of Diana Vincent-Daviss, Yale Law Library Director prior
to her death last year. ("Scholars at Yale and U. of Cincinnati
Create an Electronic Archive on Human Rights", p. A34)
The September 21 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education
also features an article on law library efforts to make materials
available electronically. Columbia's Project Janus and Chicago-
Kent's Library of International Relations are discussed with quotes
from Columbia Law Library Director Jim Hoover and Chicago-
Kent's Law Library Director Mickie Voges. ("The Virtual Library",
p. A23)
Loyola University (Chicago) Law Library has received extensive
press coverage in the Chicago legal press upon its move to a new
building. Law Library Director Bob Doyle and Associate director
Leverett Preble are quoted extensively. ("Loyola University
School of Law Serves the Community" Illinois Legal Times,
September 1994, p. 14; "New Loyola Law Library Ready for
Reading", Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, September 2, p.3)
