Checking in bindery shipments

Fellow Technical Services Librarians,

I'd like to poll you about your bindery procedures. When you have the shipments checked in, what do you have examined? Do you just check the spine labeling?
Or do you carefully examine the structure of each volume? Or do you spot
check the structure of selected volumes to be sure end papers are properly
attached, etc.?

As for turnaround time, how quickly do you expect a bindery shipment of, say,
200 volumes to be returned to the shelves? Is this time limit a part of the
bindery person's job description?

I appreciate any and all responses. If there is interest, I will gladly
summarize for the list.
