Our automated system automatically prints routing slips on labels when the
issue is checked in. I have little paper slips (3x4-1/2) to which I stick
the routing labels. The slips are a bright yellow, so they are easy to see.
They say "Kresge Library, Notre Dame Law School" at the top, so the routee
is reminded that we are providing this wonderful service, and that it is
library material that should be returned. The paper slips are stapled to
the cover and are easily removed when returned.
I have an 8x11 original that fits 8 of these 3x4-1/2 slips on it. It is a
simple task to copy and cut a bunch more slips when I run out.
We have been using this system for five years and it works nicely. We use
the same labels that we use for cards and pockets, so do not have to
purchase anything extra. One thing you may want to check if you purchase
perforated sheets is, if the sheets are in columns, can InMagic produce the
labels in columns? I'm not sure what would be cheaper, using perforated
sheets or labels.
