Hi!
I am currently interested in determining the best way to handle non-print
media backup. We have various audio, video and cd rom products which are
loaned to patrons. Currently we are loaning the originals and are
concerned with the possibility of damage or loss. Some of the materials
are quite expensive and would be costly to replace.
How are you handling this issue in your library? What problems have you
had, especially with compliance with copyright requirements?
We would like to backup audio visual materials and archive the original.
Has anyone done this? What are the pro's and con's?
We would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
