Last month I reqested help in locating state administrative agency decisions
in electronic format. Many thanks to those who responded. I was asked to
summarize for the list.
I checked Eis' Directory of Law-Related CD-ROMS and BNA's Directory of State
Administrative Codes and Registers which several mentioned and found that:
Eis has no subject index term referring in any manner to this topic. BNA
has heading "Electronic Media" for each state entry. I found two state
listings for decisions from their Revenue Departments. However the
inconsistency of the listings brings accuracy into question.
>From the Internet I learned that Florida has taken a leadership role by
providing tapes from their Department of Administrative Hearings to Darby
Publishing which publishes them on CD-ROM ($1400). An alternative will be
Harrison Publishing's forthcoming CD-ROM ($69/month).
Also, while surfing, my colleague, Barb Golden, discovered that Chicago-Kent
College of Law loads precedential orders and decisions of the Illinois
Human Rights Commission and the Chicago Commission on Human Relations.
Conclusion - no readily available source listing electronic access to
state administrative agency decisions. I would like to prepare and send
a comprehesive survey to each state, but no time. UNLESS, there is someone
out there who would like to work on this project with me using the "Net".
