Friends: A colleague of mine (actually, my wife) is in the process
of collecting original material for a volume on the experiences of
women who have attended univeristy but who encountered and overcame
pressures from family, spouses, friends. The following "flyer"
explains more.

If you are a member of other networks whose members might be
interested in this project, please do forward it.

Thanks and cheers, James Dietz [Internet: jdietz@fullerton.edu]

                    A CALL FOR COLLABORATORS

We are gathering information on women who have a university
degree or are currently in the process of acquiring one, but who
initially faced strong opposition from family members or their
"significant other" in their effort to pursue a higher education.

We want to voice feelings and opinions from women who have had
to draw upon great inner strength to accomplish their goals.

Their collaboration will appear in a book anthology in
preparation entitled Women of Steel: Unsentimental Stories.

Respondents whose experiences are chosen for publication will
receive an honorarium. Half of all royalties from the book will go
to initiate a scholarship for women in higher education in need of
financial aid.

If you, or anyone you know, would like to be interviewed or
want to contribute an essay, testimony, short story, play or poem
related to this theme, please contact:
