The quote was uttered by Brendan V. Sullivan, Jr., Oliver North's
counsel during the Iran-Contra hearings. If I recall correctly, the
exact quote was "I'm not a potted plant here, Senator!" He was
objecting to what he perceived as an attempt to deliberately bypass
him during questionning of his client.
