A.B. 1624 has been sitting on the Governor's desk for the last couple of
weeks and he finally signed it yesterday! 1993 Cal. Stats. ch. 1235,
effective Jan. 1, 1994.
This bill will allow the following material to become accesible via "the
largest nonproprietary, nonprofit cooperative public computer network"
(i.e., the Internet!):
-- Full text of each bill in all versions - introduced, amended,
enrolled and chaptered.
-- History and status of each bill
-- Committee analyses
-- California codes and constitution
The Governor's office told me that there were no line item vetoes on the
bill. If you have the enrolled version (available on Lexis and Legitech),
you have the chaptered version.
I remember that someone was very involved in spearheading this effort and
I want to give them a big thank you. They will probably check in here
with more details later.
So, what's going to happen with Legitech? :-)
