ABA stats

I wanted to let you know that about 15 directors responded to my message
regarding whether they would be including all their librarians except
the director in the library section of the questionnaire -- in particular
for salary purposes.

All the directors except one is including all the librarians except
the director in the library section. The one director not doing so said
the Budget Administrator at the school is going strictly by the teaching
definition -- which meant the director's salary would be with the
librarians (bec. the director doesn't teach the Fall semester) and the
associate director's salary will be with the regular fac. and other
instructors.

FYI, Betty Taylor said she has consulted with the dean's admin.
assistant who is handling the profiles of the faculty. The profile asks
for the title of the position the person holds and one is librarian. It
asks other questions about the librarian's tenure, etc. The adm. asst.
asssures Bettty that her understanding from the NYC meeting she attended
about the questionnaire that it will all be merged and that the library
statistics will be reflected accurately by picking up this data.
Otherwise, the adm. asst. says the law school will not receive the
teaching credit produced by administrators who are teaching only one
course. As Betty said, "guess we should watch this to see how it
works out".
