POSITION Head Librarian
DUTIES The main office of a major downtown Los
Angeles Law firm is seeking a Head Librarian.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all library
operations in two offices, including budgeting for operations,
acquisitions and maintenance and supervising one librarian and
Three assistants. Applicants must have proven law library
management and supervisory skills with expertise in library
automation and computer functions. Excellent interpersonal
and communication skills are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS MLS from accredited library school and 3-5
years experience in law firm library management.
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and
experience.

POSITION Librarian. The Los Angeles library of the
California Attorney General's Office has an
opening for a Librarian.
DUTIES Under the general direction of the Supervising
Librarian, provides reference and research
assistance, including computer assisted legal research; cataloging of
treatises, government documents, and non-book media utilizing
manual and automated methods; collection development including
book selection, stack maintenance and weeding; interlibrary loans;
library orientation and training of attorneys, paralegals and students.
QUALIFICATIONS M.L.S.; knowledge of library and non-library
computer systems, including word processing, database management,
online bibliographic systems and online research systems (LEXIS &
WESTLAW); experience in a law library, special library or
familiarity with legal materials; good oral and written
communication skills; initiative, ability to handle a variety of
projects simultaneously, ability to prioritize work; strong
interpersonal skills.
SALARY $2843/mo. + benefits.
