The Executive Board has the authority to act for the
Association in a wide range of areas. See the Constitution
and Bylaws in the 93-94 Directory and Handbook. The new
unified Bylaws didn't change the Board authority.
AALLNET now includes a number of interesting and useful
documents about how the Association functions. (Mark
Folmsbee, perhaps you could please re-post how to access
AALLNET?)
The Strategic Challenge 1994-'98, recently adopted by the
Board, includes a strategic direction to "Reinvigorate the
Structure of AALL." This direction will "examine the
organizational structure of AALL to ensure that it provides
a framework for accomplishing the mission of the
Association.
A task force charged with assuring that the Board is
representative of various library types been appointed.
See the September newsletter for a task force roster.
If you have questions/suggestions about how the
Association operates let's discuss them along this thread.
