Our current photocopy charges are:
.10/page (coin)
.05-.10/page (card)--depends on how many copies you buy at once--If $20.00
worth, copies are .05/

Our fiche reader-printers use the same system, so pricing is the same.

Laser Printing in the Computer Lab costs .10/page.

                  ***************************************

From: Lynn Williams <llw@lclark.edu>

At Lewis & Clark, we charge $.05 per copy for everyone--including people
who buy copy cards. Faculty, student organizations, law review, and moot
court students can charge copying and their funds are deducted by journal
vouchers through the business office. We charge $.20 per page for laser
printing and groups and faculty can also charge these costs.

                  ***************************************

From: John Moore <jmoore@cap.gwu.edu>

We charge $0.15 per page. Microforms are free, but there is a 10 page limit.

                  ***************************************

From: Don Buffaloe <DBUFFALO%LMUACAD.BITNET@pucc.Princeton.EDU>

James,
At Loyola Law School, Los Angeles we charge 10 cents per copy with
coin, 8 cents per copy with a card, and 8 cents per copy for copies from
microfiche or microfilm. The copy cards are distributed from a vending
machine in the main copy center, and initially cost $5.00. You receive
$4.00 worth of copies on the $5 card, but value can be added to the card
at no additional charge later.

                 *****************************************

From: Scott Livingston - Detroit College of Law <livingss@mlc.lib.mi.us>

Photocopies:
          $0.10 with change
          $0.077 with card

Microtext:
          Free to all users

Laser printers:
Free to all users; access restricted to students and staff

From: Ann Puckett <APUCKETT@uga.cc.uga.edu>

We're planning to buy new copiers, and I have considered making a price
change at the same time. We charge five cents a copy now; I'm considering
a differential price of ten cents for cash copying, nine cents for a low-
value copy card, seven cents for a medium value copy card, and five cents
for a high value copy card. I'd be very interested in the results of your
survey, especially if there are libraries operating on the plan I describe.

                 *****************************************

From: L10SLB1@MVS.CSO.NIU.EDU

Here at NIUCOL, the Univ. printing department has control
over the copiers (so the money stays in the Univ., not some outside
vendor)

The current rates are:
    $0.25/page (coin; all sizes)
    $0.06/page (card for 8.5 x 11)
    $0.08/page (card for 8.5 x 14)
    $0.10/page (card for 11 x 17)
As you can see, card purchase is encouraged.

Copies from fiche and film cost $0.10 for everyone except
faculty and staff

We don't have a laser printer in the PC lab, but deskjet printing
is free.

From: "Martin Cerjan - Law Library" <CERJAN@payson.usmacs.maine.edu>
Organization: University of Southern Maine
  Our current charges are:

     $.10/p. (coin)
     $.09/p. (card)

Copies from fiche are free for students/fac/staff, $.10 for non-law
  school users.

Laser printing from Wordperfect in the Lab is free.

Here at the Garbrecht Law Library we have one coin-op
machine--$.10/copy. If patrons purchase or add value to a
vendacard, we give a bit of a break:

$20 card gets you 225 copies
$10 card gets you 110 copies

Copies from the fiche reader/printer (an honor system) are
$.10/copy--for everyone--though I wish we had a card terminal or
coin op attached.

Laser printer in the computer lab is free. (Lab is operated by the
University and not the Law Library.)

Our photocopy charges differ greatly depending upon what form of
copying is done. We sell copy cards at different rates depending upon
the denomination. At 15 copies they are .06/copy so on and so forth
until the highest - 400 copies for $20 is .05/copy. Laser printing is
generally not free - we have attached the vending machine to them. Dot
matrix printing is free. We include a $1.00 deposit for the cards but we
are changing that to follow the other libraries on campus who do not want
to continue paying refunds. Instead of the $1.00 deposit - the $1.00
will go toward a copy card with 5 copies already programed. We have not
implemented this yet so it is not apparent how this new system will go over.

Charges for services to attorneys are: photocopy & mail - $2.00
service charge; .25/page; postage. Fax - $5.00 service charge;
.50/page. We include additional charges for a request of over 3
citations/day. Hope this is clear and helps you to see what we do here
at Wake.

From: Lee Warthen <WARTHEN@ADMN1.LAW.UTAH.EDU>

Coin copies and non-discount cards 10 cents

Georgetown Law Library's Photocopy's charges are as follows: paper:
.05/copy; microform: .10/copy; laser prints: .10/copy. Our computer
labs have dot matrix printers for no charge unlimited printing. All
copying is by card. When copying from reporters many students will
'reduce' and get 2 pages on 1. Some of our units will feed/sort/duplex
but the charge is .05 regardless of mode.

                 *****************************************

From: George Robinson <robinson@lib.uwo.ca>

Our basic charges are identical to yours (.10/.09); copies of
microformats are .25/per (no cards). We also charge .$25 per page for
printing from networked CD-ROM workstations to a laser printer, with
the alternative of free downloading (we sell disks for $2.). All
prices are, of course, in CAN$.

I am the law librarian for Lawrence County in New Castle PA. My charges
for photocopies are as follows :

          Photocopies .10 per page
Faxed photo. .25 per page (local calls)
          Faxed photo. .25/pg + $1.00 (long distance)

I do not have any other charges for any other type of photocopies or
printing. I hope to get a small local network with a laser printer. The
knowledge of the charges for that is good for me to know. Hope I helped.
Sincerely,

Hi James-
At UO we have the following photocopy/printer charges:

Photocopies: .05 per page (same price card or coin).
Laser print copies : .25 per page. (only available to UO Law
                                Students).
Microform Copies: 1st 10 pages free, .10 per page thereafter.

The Library does not receive any of the proceeds from the sale of
copies from thephotocopiers and printers. The Law School receives
them and is responsible for paying for the supplies and equipment
(but not the day to day labor or maintenance of course).

From: Lynn Wishart <wishart@yu1.yu.edu>

At Cardozo (NYC) we also charge $.10 for a coin copy and $.09 for a card
copy. Our fiche/film copies are .$10. Our laser printing is free.

We may be in for a contract change (use concessioner; do not lease
machines). The proposed structure for photocopies is $.15 coin, $.10 -
$.08 for card depending on the value added to the card at any one time;
also proposed is a $.15/page charge for laser printing (we started out
with a $.20 charge five years ago, but it got dropped to zero three years
ago).

From: RYANL@ALM.ADMIN.USFCA.EDU

Hi!
Our charges are $0.10 (coin), and between $0.10 and $0.05 (card).
The card charges vary inversely with the amount of money used to
purchase/revalue the card. If one adds only $1.00, each copy will
cost 10 cents. If one adds $20 at once, each copy is only 5 cents.
(The cost falls in between 10 cents and 5 cents when one adds $10
in value or $5 in value to one's card)

Laser printing in our lab is 10 cents per page.

Regards,

- Lee

At the University of Kansas we charge $.10 for photocopies in coin, $.07
using a copy card. Microform copies are $.05. Printing in the computer
lab is free--either laser or ink jet. We have a cion-op device attached
to the laser printer, but we discovered that the ink jets are so good
that students did not use the laser and our costs for the inkjet are
actually higher than for the laser jet, so we set the charge on the
coin-op to $.00.

At Marshall-Wythe:
$.10 for photocopies for cash, for public and students; faculty and
staff have "free" photocopy cards

$.06 2/3 per copy on a copy card (15 copies for a dollar)

Fiche copies are $.10 per, on an honor system, for students and the
public; free for faculty and staff

Our charge for laser printers in the computer labs is on the order of
$.10 per page.

The public fax is $2.00 per page, call included.

Our charge for copying for law firms and other "commercial" inter-
library loan is $.25 per page for copying OR $1.00 per page for
copying and sending by facsimile, plus (in either case) $5.00 per
request and $1.00 per cite, within a single request.

In my varied and entry-level experience the widest variety in charges
among libraries is the cost for copying and sending material to law
firms and other for-profit borrowers.
