I am responding to some of the rumors floating around out there with
regards to LEXIS(R) Associates and MDC's commitment to this program. As a
current Legal Education Representative and manager of LEXIS(R) Associates as
well as a former LA myself, I was shocked to see a message implying that Mead
Data Central could possibly cut back on such a vabuable and indispensible part
of its service to law schools. I went right to the top and asked Marsha
Diamond, Acting National Director for the Legal Education Organization, if MDC
was entertaining any thoughts of curtailing the LAs' hours or the number of LAs
at law schools across the country or in specific regions. I was assured by her
in a telephone conversation on Monday evening that MDC has no intention of
cutting back or laying off LEXIS(R) Associates now or at any point in the
future.
