Hi Everyone,
I was the one who sent the original message about the Post-it ploy.
Since the response was overwhelming, over 50 replies, & the publisher
never returned my phone call, I filed a complaint with the CRIV Sheet.
Hopefully, this tacky method will be stopped. (GOOD LUCK!)
I have heard about this ploy being used for other items, like diet
pills, too! Imagine racking your brain to think of who could have sent
you such a hidden message in today's image of the perfect body!) ;-}

The item has now made its way to Albany. A colleague here called the
publisher mentioned in the book review, in an attempt to find out the
source of the item. Envelopes are typed but clearly have information
from some correct mailing list. No return address, but Santa Ana
postmark. She was told there was no one to speak to her. "Did she want
her name removed from the mailing list?" Also told they rent mailing
lists (when asked the source of names.) All in all, not a satisfactory
answer. Now, I know we discussed this at length, but I confess I have
forgotten what the list decided to do. If someone would care to tell
me, privately, I would appreciate it. I will also try to find some
time to search archives, but I know someone is dying to tell me this
information.
