                        ARL ANNUAL SALARY SURVEY 1994

The ARL Annual Salary Survey 1994 reports data covering over 600
professional librarians' positions in 68 academic law libraries.

Tables display the average salary by institution, gender, years
of experience, and job category.

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is a not-for-profit
organization of 119 research libraries in the U.S. and Canada. Its
mission is to shape and influence forces affecting the future of
research libraries in the process of scholarly communication. ARL
programs and services promote equitable access to, and effective use of
recorded knowledge in support of teaching, research, scholarship, and
community service. These programs include annual statistical
publications, federal relations and information policy, and enhancing
access to scholarly information resources through telecommunications,
collection development, and preservation. The Program of Statistics and
Measurement works to describe and measure the performance of research
libraries and their contribution to research, teaching, scholarship, and
