restaurant question

A professor wants to know why restaurants don't serve aspirin to
patrons. He thinks it's because they fear tort liability, but he
wants to cite some authority on this. I searched both Westlaw and
Lexis--cases, statutes, regs, periodicals, etc., and found nothing
useful. I looked at treatises on hotel and restaurant law and at
hornbooks and treatises on torts. I spoke with the National
Restaurant Association's librarians and its General Counsel
(he refused to give me any advice because I am not a member of the
Association). I also spoke with UCLA's Campus Counsel, the editor of
HOSPITALITY LAW, and librarians at UC's General Counsel Office,
Cornell's Hotel Library, and UNLV (which has a hotel school). So
far no one knows of a source that discusses this. Does anyone know
of a person or association that I can talk to or a source I can look
at?

Thanks,

Amy Atchison
