J. Gibson [et al.]...
You *could* use the Library of Congress "K" subclass K schedule. Under
K1150-K1231 are classifications which you could use. You may want to
post your query on the AUTOCAT e-mail list. You'll get many cataloguers
viewing your posting there.

I've created a specialized scheme before for a small collection of
specialized legal materials and I regretted it later. In my zeal, I
forgot about the future and my successor. I did include documentation
and the scheme itself works a lot like the Library of Congress scheme,
as far as being dynamic and flexible. But now, methinks the collection
and organization has collapsed into anarchy. So,

Think about the future. The collection may either be merged with other
collections, or the person taking over the cataloguing and classification
responsibilities, didn't <or won't> keep up the maintenance on the scheme I
had created.

I would strongly recommend picking a classification that some commercial
publisher and professional librarians MAINTAIN over the years: like Dewey,
Moyes, or the Library of Congress. Otherwise, I suspect, your pride and
joy self-created scheme is doomed to failure from lack of proper
maintenance by your successors.
