I can't say that I understand the part about Vidal Sassoon. I am just
curious to know, however - would the situation be improved if there were an
exam to pass for state boards of some sort? Some kind of equivalent to a bar
exam? In that case, the MLS would not be the requirement, the knowledge of
the subject would (as for an attorney, I presume). I would also assume that
with this kind of licensure, unlicensed people would be "practicing without a
license", something which carries high penalties in the legal and medical
worlds.
