Head of Reference: Georgetown University Law Library.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required -- Master's degree from an ALA accredited library
school; JD from an ABA-accredited law school;
expert knowledge of print and electronic materials
used in legal and law-related research; 3 to 5
years progressively responsible reference
experience, including administrative and
supervisory experience.
Preferred -- Superior public relations skills; ability to
communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
working knowledge of online systems and ability to
work under pressure.
DUTIES: Reporting to the Head of the Public Services Division,
supervise programs which deliver reference services,
interlibrary loan services, computer search services and
education services to the Law Center community. Specific
duties include:
Planning, implementing, and coordinating the delivery of
reference services to Georgetown faculty, students, and
other law library users; providing reference assistance
to researchers and developing in-house research
publications,
Participating in legal research instruction, CALR
training, journal and clinical research instruction, and
other law library educational programs,
Developing goals and priorities for Reference Department
staff of 6 and providing general supervision over
interlibrary loan services, computer search services and
education services programs.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
