Me

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated! I want to
thank all of you for your good vibes and nice notes - whenever I feel too
sorry for myself, I grab a few and reread them! My laminectomy (L4/5 -
removal of ruptured disc) was successful, however, I have major nerve
damage in my left leg and foot. However, I gave up my cane 3 weeks ago
and only need a foot brace to help make walking safe! Progress is
progress! I am back at work about 5-6 hours a day with lots of physical
therapy thrown in for good measure. Prognosis - who knows? The doc is
mum. But nerves do regenerate at the rate of 1"/month - just have to
give mine time and see if they do grow back.
At any rate, I do want to thank so many of you for sending your
good wishes my way! The last 3 months have been a REAL challenge.
        Best and HAPPY SPRING!
