Ever since the November 21, 1994 issue of Forbes that reported that
Dwight Opperman and the "Opperman clan" own more than 51% of the company,
the claim that West is "employee-owned" is a little disingenous (and
irrelevant as well but I did not raise the issue). Mr. Trittipo, whose firm
seems to now have a public relations as well as lobbying role for West,
has raised this issue of "employee-owned".
It would be useful in evaluating this point, raised by
Mr. Trittipo, to know what percentage of West is owned by the Opperman
family. It seems to me that Mr. Trittipo should either disclose this
information, or take it off of the signature of West's law firm.
