Director of the Law Library
Large international DC-based law firm seeks accomplished and motivated
law librarian to administer and direct the services of a large and
diverse law library in a fast paced and challenging legal environment.
Position manages both professional and support staff providing reference,
legislative, interlibrary loan, and technical services.
The candidate must have a strong commitment to providing superior service
and promoting and marketing the library. Requirements include an M.L.S.
from an A.L.A. accredited school; minimum of five years senior level
library management experience, preferably in a law firm environment;
experience with library automation including conversion to an on-line
catalog, networking, database creation, CD-ROM applications, and the
Internet highly desirable; substantial supervisory, administrative and
budgetary experience; broad knowledge of legal and non-legal materials
and systems; must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills
and have the ability to work with a variety of people.
