On January 25th Rick Donnelly asked about moving shelving fully loaded.
I got a video tape from an outfit called Innovation Moving Systems, Inc.
from a local library consultant, Access Information. The video shows a
contraption that has two uprights on wheels that are lined up on either
side of the cantilevered steel shelving. Bars with teeth are inserted
through the units and the teeth engage the uprights. Hydraulic jacks
jack the units up "not too high" the video warns, and the whole mess
rolls around, SLOWLY. Address is P.O. Box 1360, South Holland, Illinois
60473. They have a toll free number: 800-850-6034. SLOWLY seems like
good advice, to me.
