The Western New England College School of Law Library has two open
positions. These are described below.
REFERENCE LIBRARIAN
Requirements: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school and a minimum of
three years of prior relevant law library experience. JD preferred. Familarity
with technology, including CALR; strong service orientation; and demonstrated
supervisory skills essential
Duties: Responsible for providing reference service to the Law School
community; overseeing interlibrary loan services; implementing CALR training;
supervising support and student staff; preparing exhibits and bibliographies;
assisting with in-house publications. Reports to the Head of Reader Services.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
COLLECTION SERVICES LIBRARIAN
Requirements: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school. Strong service
orientation essential. Some prior law library experience preferred.
Duties: Responsible for assuring that the various services associated with
the collection are properly utilized and appropriately publicized, including
overseeing the microform, the superseded/historical, the archives and rare
books, and the looseleaf collections; and stack management; assisting with
training in CALR and other databases; preparing exhibits and bibliographies;
assisting with in-house publications; and providing some reference work.
Reports to the Head of Reader Services. A Tuesday through Saturday work
schedule.
