We are members of "Beyond the Book" Committee at the
Columbia Law Library. One of the purposes of the Committee
is to enhance access to electronic texts on the Internet.
We are interested in gathering as much information as
possible on how our colleagues are coping with law materials
          on the Internet.

                 I. Bibliographic control

Do you systematically search, select, download,
and catalog law materials on the Internet? Do you
catalog e-journals? How about electronic texts at
                    ftp, gopher sites?

                II. Patron access

How do your library inform patrons of the
existence of electronic materials on the Internet
given the volatility of databases on the Internet?
                    Also Usenet, newsgroups?

               III. Archives

Does your library archive electronic texts or
e-journals? How do you keep track of them?

Any information you can share with us about your experiences
with law materials on the Internet will be greatly
appreciated. Please contact Fred Chan directly by e-mail,
          fax or phone.

Many thanks in advance! We look forward to hearing from
          you.
