MATERIALS NOW AVAILABLE FOR LEGAL RESEARCH TEACH-IN II
Time now to consolidate your plans for participating in "Legal Research
Teach-In II, during National Library Week (April 17-23, 1994). Sponsored by
AALL's Research Instruction Caucus (RIC), with support from West Publishing
and Mead Data Central, Research Teach-In II is a perfect opportunity to teach
research skills and promote the role of librarians as information providers at
the same time.
RIC has worked closely again this year with both West and Mead in order to
provide libraries with unique instructional and promotional materials. The
1994 materials are offered to librarians without charge (as long as supplies
last).
"Training Kits" are available from West in the following subject areas:
environmental law, intellectual property, international law, labor &
employment law, and tax law. One kit per institution is available free of
charge. Contact Pam Brandt, West Pub. Co., (612) 687-5428 to obtain a kit.
Training kits prepared for the 1993 inaugural teach-in are still available for
a small free from the RIC Clearinghouse, AALL HQ, Dept. 77-6021, Chicago, IL
60678-6021. Written orders should include the kit title, order number, and fee
plus $3 P&H for each kit ordered. Topics, kit #s and fees: Intro. to Legal
Research (#93001-$8.80); Legislative Research (#93002-$8.25); Administrative
Law (#93003-$7.15); and Looseleaf Research (#93004-$8).
"Promotional materials" for Research Teach-In II are available from Mead, also
free of charge. Posters and bookmarks can help you promote your activity,
whatever it may be, making it more colorful and attractive to participants.
