The AALL Salary Survey should be mailed by April 1, 1993; the
requested date of return is April 26, 1993. This survey of all
members will be conducted for AALL by the Management Association
of Illinois. This well-known, independent survey organization
will ensure the confidentiality of responses.
Also included is a NON-MEMBER LIBRARY STAFF DATA CHART which
covers all non-member employees. This is the first attempt to
survey the entire law library profession.
The moving force for the survey was President Penny
Hazelton whose successors, Carolyn Ahearn and Mark Estes have
given equally enthusiastic support to filling the need for salary
information about law libraries. The Chairs of the Academic,
State and Court, and Private Law Libraries SIS have served as
consultants. The survey is supported by a grant from Mead Data
Central and will be available to attendees of the July
convention.
