After checking out the market, our Academic Computing staff found CD-ROM towers
from CalAbCo in Woburn, MA (phone 1-800-743-4669): 7 Toshiba drives in a
cabinet with power supply and SCSI cables; it has worked fine for us. There
are probably other companies as well that sell good equipment at much lower
prices than the "name brands" (who, as Loren Mendelsohn points out, often put
their names on products manufactured by others).
