SGML

Folks:

A surprising amount of material regarding SGML has appeared in the
computer-geek trade rags lately. A search on 'SGML' in the TRDTEC
library of NEXIS turns up 227 documents, of which several are good
general-interest overviews. BTW, WordPerfect has announced the
release of an SGML editor called IntelliTags for sometime next month,
and Folio Viewss moving in the direction of SGML support. The
WorldWideWeb Internet hypertext standard, to which we are busily
porting several new texts, uses an SGML subset as its markup language.
We're quite excited about it, since it means that our ports from one
medium to another (primarily from Folio to WWW at this point, though
the ability to easily port things originated in WordPerfect is
something we're looking forward to) are going to be rendered a good
deal easier.

Good stuff to know about, and I wish Ina well -- otherwise it looks
like I'm up for job reclassification.

Regards,
Tb.
