Sent this personally to Linda and then saw Anne Myers message to copy
everyone. Here is my response.

Subject: Re: Federal Depository Status
Hi, Linda. You may know this already, but I seriously considered giving
up our depository status. We only select 9% and we get so much junk, that
the cataloging and classifying of the stuff is very expensive. And we
don't always get what we are supposed to get, etc., etc.. We decided not
to take any action. But I have never forgotten the issue. The trouble is
that depository status is a status symbol. Unless more law libraries are
really considering such a move, I think I am concerned about being a
trail-blazer. But I would much rather pay for what we really want than
have to abide by all the regulations and keep all the stuff we do not
want. We are close enough to our main campus library that we use it
pretty heavily.
Hope all is well. I would love to see the responses you get. Hi to Heidi
and Margaret!
