Both Lyonette Louis-Jacques (University of Chicago Law Library)
and Penny Hazelton (University of Washington Law Library)
did recent surveys on this topic. They should be able to
help you with names, etc. to contact for specific information.
At CWRU we teach two advanced legal research courses; one in
transnational law and one of a general nature. It took us about
two months to put together the materials, but we are constantly
revising them. The Director of the Law Library and I share
the responsibility for the course. My main concern is that
we are only reaching a fraction of the students who really need
additional legal research training before they go out into
the wide world of practice. I wish we could offer more
sections of the courses and offer them more often (we teach
each course once a year).
