Amateur Radio Testing Session at Pittsburgh

Friends--

Did you ever think about becoming an amateur radio operator? Do you know
what amateur radio operators are doing to exchange information digitally
and to tie into the Internet? How about using amateur radio to keep in
touch with your friends locally, or for that matter, internationally. If
you've always wanted to participate in activities such as these, now is
your chance.

As we have done for the last few years, Jeff Strandberg (CIS), Jim
Drummond (CIS) and I will be offering an amateur radio testing session in
conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Association of Law
Libraries in Pittsburgh.

The test will be offered on Sunday morning July 16 at 9:30 a.m., and we
will be prepared to test on any of the elements from Novice through Extra
and any of the code tests as well.

If anyone is interested in taking the test, please get in touch with me
by e-mail or phone before July 6, so that we can be sure to have all the
tests ready for you.

In the meantime, if the thought of communicating world-wide by voice, by
code, or digitally intrigues you, pick up a copy of the study manual, and
come join us at the testing session.

Bob
