II. THE LAW LIBRARY

The Law Library is housed in a newly expanded and renovated building on
the main campus of The Ohio State University. It serves the forty faculty
members and 660 J.D. students of the College of Law in addition to many
students and faculty members from other departments of the University.
The Law Library's collection consists of approximately 590,000 volumes and
equivalents and is particularly strong in the areas of alternative dispute
resolution, health care law, international law and socio-legal studies. In
1993, the Law Library occupied a substantial new addition which more than
doubled its space and provided the groundwork for a rapid expansion in the
use of automated information systems. The new addition has created a very
comfortable and easily used library and allows each librarian to have a
spacious office.

The Law Library works closely with the University and Health Sciences
Libraries on issues of mutual interest. The Law Library is participating in
OhioLINK, a state-wide project which provides a state-of-the-art library
automation system (designed by Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) linking Ohio's
major institutions of higher education (including seven law school
libraries). The staff of the Law Library have ample opportunity to
participate at the University and state levels in the development and
evolution of OhioLINK.

The Ohio State University is located in Columbus, the largest city in Ohio
and the state capitol. Columbus is a vigorous, growing city which offers a
wide variety of cultural, entertainment, dining and recreational
opportunities. Ohio State offers a full array of Big Ten sports. Good and
affordable housing can be found within easy reach of the campus.
