I don't believe this is the AALL list being used. A staff member
who does our ordering received one today. She is not a member of
AALL. Perhaps a publisher has sold the info..?

Hi folks, I agree with Ms. Weller about the use of AALL list for this
bogus ad campain. My wife(also not in AALL) received on at our home.
The probable culprit for this "list" is a commercial book buyers
list. When you purchase a book, garment, of other item through the
mail you are entered into that company's database as a regular
customer for that company's products. It is a common business
practice to sell and/or trade these lists with other companies. I
was alerted to this practice when offered a position with a large
mail-order house. My duties consisted of spending the evening hours
buying and selling these lists of potiential customers. Only those
companies that state "your name will not be sold" exempt themselves
fron this practice. Thankfully, I was also offered a position in a
law library that same week and was able to back out of the mail-order
position.
