Subject: Security System in Law Lib
Jim-- the following message was sent to Autocat. Please send to Law
Lib. Sue W.
Our library will install the 3M security system this month. We are
interested in how other academic law libraries have handled
retrospective parts of the collection and also current paper
materials.
1. Did you use date cut-offs for older material, and if so which,
for bound journals, treatises, reporters? Which retrospective
sections did you do first? Did you have any loss statistics from an
inventory?
2. Do you strip current issues of periodicals? CFR? Other?
Our current periodicals are shelved in the reference area, not on
closed reserve.
3. Do you mark volumes in any way to indicate they have been
stripped?
Please respond to the sender. Thanks.
