An amateur radio exam session will be conducted in conjunction with the
annual meeting of the American Association of Law Libraries.
The testing session will be held on Monday morning, July 11 at 8:00 a.m.
and will end before the start of the Business Meeting. The location will
be announced after we arrive in Seattle and after we know how many people
are interested.
Testing can include all amateur radio theory elements, Novice through
Extra Class, and can also include code at 5, 13, or 20 w.p.m.
If you are interested in taking the test for an amateur radio license,
please send me a return message or contact me by phone (202) 662-9161 so
we come to Seattle with the correct test elements.
If you've been interested in amateur radio, this could be your chance to
get started. Amateurs work in many different facets of the hobby,
ranging from traditional local and international voice communications to
newer computer-based communications (not unlike the use of the Internet,
only slower) to communications relying on satellites for a relay point.
If you are interested in technology, telecommunications, and a bit of
experimentation, amateur radio might be something you'd like to try.
