See the article titled, Vending Machine Justice Inevitable, in the
California Bar Journal, May 1994, p.4, for a good description of these
"kiosk-style dispensers of decisions". These machines are called
QuickCourt and are incredibly popular in the county law libraries that have
them. They are manufactured in Santa Monica by North Communications. My
opinion is that if this company goes public, buy stock!
A pilot project may soon be set up in California by the California Bar
Association. The interactive computer programs assist in the preparation
of forms for filing in uncontested divorce cases and landlord-tenant
disputes, and is being expanded to include probate and other areas.
