I've found it to be *much* better to use WWW for EDGAR. There's a search
option that's more efficient, quicker, and more up to date than
downloading the index. Searches generally run in a couple of seconds --
faster than I could load the index into a PC or UNIX word processor/text
editor. If you have WWW capability, the URL is

http://town.hall.org/edgar/edgar.html

If not, you can log into lawnet (telnet to acc.wuacc.edu and log in as
lawnet), look for SCALL resources, then look for Irell & Manella's menu.
I have the option there to search indexes, but, again, it's faster to just
connect and use the search feature. There may be a quicker way to access
EDGAR through lawnet, but I don't know it offhand.
