Advertising newspapers for adoption

A very nice couple here (he's a good guy even though he's an attorney)
are trying to adopt a child. A friend suggested that they take out ads
in local "throw-away" or "penny-saver" newspapers.

Does anyone know of a list of these kinds of papers around the country?

I would be glad to compile such a list if you wonderful librarians would
send me information about the papers in your area.

I know that "advertising" for adoption is illegal in :
Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas,
Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio
and Oklahoma.

Has anyone heard of anyone using the Internet (or other electronic media) to
try to locate prospective birth mothers?

I appreciate your help in this - though not as much as the couple!

Thanks!
