RoseMarie - I won't be at AALL, but your message just caught my eye,
because I am looking for a cataloging service. We are a small library, and
have had our cataloging done for a njmber of years by another larger,
public library nearby. They have now notified us they will no longer offer
the service, and our local consortium, Tampa Bay Library Consortium, hasn't
managed to hire a cataloger, so they gave me some names to try - yours was
one of them.
A quick glance at your literature shows me I could send you my data through
Procomm - that would be great. My main concern is with original cataloging
- we do some of our own theses, for example, and I don't want to do ANY
subject work or classification anymore - I WAS a cataloger for umpteen
years, and don't want to do it ever again - besides, I just don't have the
time anymore, what with reading all the e-mail!
So, my questions would be (1) will you do original cataloging, and (2) can
you give me any prices on what your service costs ( we would want full sets
of cards in Dewey for now, with full Marc records to be kept and be ava-
ilable later on 3 1/2 disk for an OPAC). Let me know if you need any
further information. Thank you.
Bye,
Anne B. Watkins
