Subj: Login info re: your library catalog
I am compiling/installing direct links from WASHLAW to all internet accessible
(AALL) law library catalogs (nationwide). My hope is to facilitate resource
sharing, as well as provide AALL members with convenient access to local library
data (like hours of operation and library policy). In my experience, that local
information is often loaded on those systems.
If your law library is interested in being accessed through WASHLAW please send
me (zzfolm@acc.wuacc.edu) telnet instructions and/or login id's. Once I have
the information, I will create a gopher menu on WASHLAW that connects us (all)
with/to our/your various library catalogs (-using unix scripts- for those of you
with technical bents).
It would also be helpful to have a "cheat sheet"- users guide, for your
particular catalog. If you already have one, please send it.
For fellow gopher/cello folks, as soon as we have the server portion of
the Washburn gopher up, you could set up direct gopher links to our
gopher catalog submenu. You wouldn't have to maintain the login
information yourself (it would be centralized). Same idea for the
gopher gateway menu I am building.
Your local gopher could then focus on what ever national or local
information "specialty" you were interested in (and not have to worry about
keeping up with gateway and catalog info).
Throwing out thoughts anyway......
Please respond to me directly (not the list). I am already on too many
technical lists and can not handle the daily flood of email from lawlib..and do
not monitor it.
